ACTHA Halloween Spooktacular, Dublin
Kipling McFarland is hosting an ACTHA sponsored ride in Dublin, Texas (about 1 1/2 hours from Ft. Worth) on Halloween weekend. ACTHA is getting all kinds of great press lately -- in the August issue of Trail Blazer magazine and has been featured on RFDTV's The Horse Show hosted by Rick Lamb.
For those who haven't heard of ACTHA yet, it's a casual competitive trail ride with 6-10 judged obstacles along the way. Riders compete for cash and some really fabulous prizes.
Along with the competition, we are having a Haunted Hay Ride and a costume contest for both dogs and horses. It should be tons of fun! We will have things for the non-riders to do as well, so bring the whole bunch -- and stay the weekend!
For more information contact Kipling McFarland at 254-434-1544.

The H.E.A.T. (Hopkins Equestrian Action Team) Horse 4-H Club - Sulphur Springs (www.hopkinscounty4h.com)
The H.E.A.T. Horse 4-H Club is a very active group of horse crazy kids. We have 2 groups working. Our entry level group is for kids that have very little horse experience this group works on ground safety. These kids work on passing skill level tests I and II.
Our more advanced kids that have previous experience and can pass level I and II skill tests begin working on the more advanced levels. These kids are showing at the state level and do cow horse, team penning, barrels, poles, and whatever they want to advance in.
Our 4-H club and seveal local horsemen and women have joined together to support our Horse 4-H program each year by hosting a Stock Horse of Texas/ Am Stock Horse Association clinic and competition. The 2nd Annual will be July 16 -17, 2010. Our kids and our volunteers are unrivaled - we are so proud of the work they did to make this a huge success for our kids.
